Early years; Education
2LT Jeremy Tyrone Carroll is a native of Vivian,LA. He graduated from Southern University Of Shreveport with an Associate of Applied Science in Electronic Technology as well as an Associate of General Studies in Pre Engineering degree in May 2005.
MILITARY CAREER
Carroll enlisted into the Army in March 2005 and attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson,SC. His initial assignment was to the 35th Signal Brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and then was assigned to XVIII Corps, later deploying to Iraq where he served on the staff of LTG Austin for nine months. After serving those nine months in Iraq, he was accepted into Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia where he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in February 2009. He then went on to attend Basic Infantry Officer Leadership Course II, also in Fort Benning,GA. LT Carroll then attended the U.S. Army Field Artillery School at Fort Sill,OK and graduated in October of 2009. He is currently serving in the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) 4th Brigade Combat Team, 2-4 Infantry Battalion, Bravo Company as the Fire Support Officer and Platoon Leader for HHC, Fort Polk,LA. LT Carroll's awards and decorations include the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Achievement Medal Ribbon, the Joint Service Commendation Medal Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal Ribbon, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal Ribbon and the Joint Meritorious Unit Citation
LT Carroll is married to LaTangela and has a daughter (Shayvon-6) and a son (Joshua-4). |
